Srimanta Sankar Madhab College at Barpeta is a branch of education system in Assam, India which was set up in 1991. The school is co-educational and is located in the beautiful village of Bhatkuchi and was been established more than 3 decades. A large campus based institution with an 19 acre spread, the college provides a number of undergraduate programmes, with an emphasis on arts, and particularly humanities. Presently the college has 467 students and 36 faculty members and this ensures that the college is person centred and outcomes focused. The college boasts of these general facilities which enhance the all-round development of the learners. 

The college library plays an important role of information hub with spacious different categories of books both local and foreign journals and other research materials. To support the practical learning the college offers high-quality departmental laboratory for interactive learning. Adequate emphasis has been placed on physical fitness by making available facilities required for a sports and a modem gym for the students.
