Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences, Mangalore, was established in 2012 which is a private college for the students of dental which is under the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. This institution is located in Surathkal, Mangalore, and the institution has made a good reputation in the field of dental education. Situated in a 5-acre campus, the college provides a 4-year Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme to the undergraduate students and innovative Masters and Ph.D dental programmes to the postgraduate students. The student enrolment is at 376 and number of faculties is 176, this makes the student teacher ratio better. Out of these over thirty percent students are from other states of India since the college has gained recognition beyond Karnataka.

Srinivas Institute of Dental Science boasts of conducive facilities and equipment that facilitate the learning montage of the students. These include well equipped laboratory, a library which boasts of adequate number of books and computer facilities. Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences comprises of five courses, in which one is undergraduate course known as Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS); four courses are Post Graduate specialisations known as Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programme takes five academic years and has an approved student capacity of one hundred students. At the postgraduate level, the college provides the following MDS programmes: Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry, the course of which lasts three years. The number of students enroled is 324, out of these 91% are undergraduate students while 9% are post graduate students. For instance, a higher percentage of female students in the institute; 80% students in the BDS programme and 67% in MDS programmes.

The action plan followed by Srinivas Institute of Dental Sciences or its admission committee includes admission criteria following the merit system. For the BDS programme, any candidate who qualifies the NEET UG is eligible for admission to the programme and has to go for seat allotment through the Karnataka Educational Authority Counselling. Likewise, the admission to the MDS programmes occurs, once the candidate clears the NEET MDS examination.
