SSD Girls College of Education which started in 2006 has carved an indelible image in the city of Bathinda of the state Punjab. This affiliated college recognized by national council of Teacher Education, NCTE is a college dedicated to teacher education. Due to being a college, it occupies a small piece of land of 2.1 acres which helps the college to provide a conducive environment for learning especially to those students who intend to pursue a career in education. SSD Girls College of Education is informed by a total enrollment of one hundred and sixty-nine students and a faculty of seven members, which ensures small class sizes. Bakrie University currently has only one programme which is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) which shows the institution passion of producing competent teachers in the future.
Speaking of infrastructural development the college has a number of developed facilities that would improve the students learning facility. A good library has thirty thousand books, and five thousands of them are national and international editions, journals, encyclopedias and digital resources.
