SSM College of Education, Rohtak was established in the year 2008 as affiliated college at Makroli Khurad, Rohtak, Haryana. This institute is NCTE-approved and offers postgraduate teaching. The campus of this college is compact and covers an area of 1 acre. It has a total enrolment of 100 students and a faculty strength of 2.

It caters to the needs of the students by giving them all facilities to grow and develop in academics and personal life. Among the significant attractions is a full-fledged and furnished library that serves as a house of knowledge, supplemented with an exhaustive range of books, e-resources, and audio-visual aids. There are specifically planned labs for Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and for Social Sciences, Mathematics, and Language. There is an advanced high-tech facility in the form of a Robotics Lab to spur skills related to interdisciplinary problem-solving. Others include a cafeteria, a medical room, sports facilities, a gymnasium, and IT infrastructure to support learning.

SSM College of Education offers two major programmes under the education stream. The B.Ed. and the Diploma in Education are each two years full-time programme. Sanctioned intake in the B.Ed. course is 100 students. This course was introduced to guide the students through adequate skills and knowledge needed for a successful teaching career at this stage.

Cases of merit-based admission at SSM College of Education are carried out strictly on the basis of marks secured in a qualifying examination and/or entrance test, respectively. The admission policy of the college is further governed by the policy of the state government of Haryana and the affiliated university. The selection will be conducted giving due consideration to the results of the academic performance and entrance test scores, if any, maintained in a comprehensive manner in the case of B.Ed. Admission to D.Ed is also done purely on merit basis as directed by the rules of the state government concerned and the educational authorities.
