SSM College of Engineering Namakkalwas established in the year 1998, and it is run private college located Namakkal Tami Nadu India. This affiliated college is situated on a thirty point ninety three acres of land and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute teaches 16 courses spread over four programs, for a total student enrollment of 980. SSM College of Engineering currently has a faculty of 155 members, and hence the student teacher ratio of the college is highly impressive.

SSM College of Engineering has a wide variety of programs for both the undergraduate and post graduate levels. The institute has 7 BE programs, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Civil Engineering; all the programs take 60 students each. Also, it enables B.Tech programs in Information Technology, Textile Technology and Petroleum engineering. For the post graduation the college offers ME in Applied Electronics, Thermal Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, MBA and MCA. All the courses are taught as full time and normally last from 2 to 4 years depending on the intended program.

The facilities in SSM College of Engineering do not select the students on the basis of management quota but only in accordance to the norms prescribed by the Tamil Nadu State Government. In the case of undergraduate engineering programs, majority of the students are admitted after the TNEA counselling performance. For postgraduate programs like MBA and MCA.pitch and the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) scores of the college is accepted. The institute also accepts Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission (CEETA-PG) for some of the post graduate programs.
