About SSM College of Engineering, Namakkal
SSM College of Engineering Namakkalwas established in the year 1998, and it is run private college located Namakkal Tami Nadu India. This affiliated college is situated on a thirty point ninety three acres of land and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The institute teaches 16 courses spread over four programmes, for a total student enrolment of 980. SSM College of Engineering currently has a faculty of 155 members, and hence the student teacher ratio of the college is highly impressive.
SSM College of Engineering has several enhancement amenities for students’ education and development within its complex. Learning being an importantершtool of any institution, the library currently boasts of over 50,000 books, 350 journals inclusive of the online resources. For students and staff who live in the college, the college provides separate hostel for boys and girls and additional services like steam for cooking, use of reverse osmosis water, and internet connectivity the whole year round. People’s well-being by physical activity is considered with available fitness and space for physical training and there is a health centre that assists in injuries. SSM College of Engineering has a wide variety of programmes for both the undergraduate and post graduate levels. The institute has 7 BE programmes, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Civil Engineering; all the programmes take 60 students each. Also, it enables B.Tech programmes in Information Technology, Textile Technology and Petroleum engineering. For the post graduation the college offers ME in Applied Electronics, Thermal Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, MBA and MCA. All the courses are taught as full time and normally last from 2 to 4 years depending on the intended programme.

The facilities in SSM College of Engineering do not select the students on the basis of management quota but only in accordance to the norms prescribed by the Tamil Nadu State Government. In the case of undergraduate engineering programmes, majority of the students are admitted after the TNEA counselling performance.
