St. Cyril’s College, Adoor; Affiliated college founded in 1981, situated at Pathanamthitta District of Kerala. ECH has it situated on a 17-acre lush green PRISTINE environment and is recognised by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council or NAAC for SHORT. St Cyril’s college currently offers 5 degree programmes in 9 courses to a total enrolment of 575 students with a qualified faculty of 27 teachers. As a premier learning institution of the country, the college offers quality education in Arts, Science and Commerce streams for the students from the college and other aspiring learning institutions in the region.

In this regard, St. Cyril’s College has provided the different facilities that would complement the learner’s experience and personality. College library acts as information centre of the college possessing more than 11452 books, 12 journals, periodicals and newspapers which are quite beneficial for the academic purpose. To support practical learning, most departments provide functional science laboratories where students may put into practice what they learn from books and lectures. The college also pays emphasis to the extent of using technology where the college has equipped a computer laboratory from Department of Commerce with 12 computers for the students to learn the modern techniques of accounting. Realisation of various recreational pursuits in plethora of sports structures facilitates the sports lovers physically while; a gymnasium assists the students to keep fit physically. It also has hostels for boys’ and girls’, to provided facilitated accommodation to those from remote areas of the country.

St. Cyril’s College presents an extensive curriculum of 9 courses within the under and post graduate degrees. These are full-time programme covering Arts, Science and Commerce. Some of the popular undergraduate courses offered are, the BA English, Economics, and History; B.Sc Chemistry, Mathematics, and Computer Applications; and the B.Com. At the postgraduate level, the college provides MA in English and M.Sc in Physics. Currently the student intake depends on the specific course but in the case of BA English, the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training has approved an intake of 40 students. Admission process of St. Cyril’s College is non-selective while admission criteria are highly selective. To this end, the academic performance in the qualifying examination forms the overriding consideration for admission to the college.
