Degree wise Admission Process
B.Sc Programs: St. George's College has B.Sc. programs in the various areas, such as Chemistry, Botany, Physics, Mathematics, and Food Science and Quality Control. Admission into these programs would depend on the scores in the 10+2 examination, giving weightage to the relevant science subjects. The intake capacity for each program varies from 20 to 52 seats.
B.Com Programs: The college offers special B.Com programs like B.Com Co-Operation, B.Com Office Management and Secretarial Practice, B.Com Finance and Taxation, and B.Com Computer Applications. All self-financed programs are open to 40 students. Admissions shall be based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination, with preference to students of commerce background.
BA Program: The college offers the BA program in English, Political Science, Economics, and Mass Communication & Journalism. The selection procedure is based on the marks in the 10+2 examination in the respective subjects. All subjects could afford an intake of between 24 to 40 depending on the program.
BCA Program: A regular as well as self-financed BCA program is being offered by the college. Admission is on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination, stressing that for Mathematics and Computer Science, marks must have been given special consideration. The regular program has an intake of 24 seats and self-financed program of 38.
The M.Sc. programs at St. George's College encompass Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Food Technology, and Quality Assurance. Admission to these programs is considered based on the marks obtained in the relevant bachelor's degree, with an intake capacity of 10 to 30 seats depending on the program.
Self-financed M.Com in Finance and Taxation, with a maximum acceptance of 30 students. Admission depends on the marks obtained in the B.Com or equivalent degree.
Ph.D. Programs: St. George's College offers Ph.D. in Chemistry and Physics. Admission to Ph.D. in Chemistry is based on the GATE score. Specifics on admission requirements for Ph.D in Physics follow similar criteria but are not available.
