St. Lawrence College of Education is an affiliated college inaugurated in 2003 situated in Khammam, Telangana. This institution was approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and focuses on the teacher education programmes. Spread over a small 1.27 acres of space, the college has two full time courses with a total student enrolment capacity of 200. The institute has a total of 16 permanent faculties so as to maintain that healthy student-faculty ratio. St. Lawrence College of Education provides its student with two main course specialisation in education. They are both day programmes, hence both are taking a full year and they are intended to produce teachers. While the B.Ed programme’s sanctioned intake capacity is 100, the D.Ed programme has only 50 sanctioned intake capacity. These courses are aimed at different levels of teacher training with choices for students according to their plans and preparation. The existence of these two core programmes in the college enables the college to offer a focused attention in the training of teachers, so that those who graduate from the college can effectively discharge their duties in future whenever they join the sector.

The admission requirements at St. Lawrence College of Education include marks obtained in the qualifying, or an entrance examination in some cases. The college operates under the guidelines of admission control measures provided by the State Government of Telangana and the University to which the college is affiliated. In the case of the B. Ed programme, the candidates have to clear the qualifying examination, which is usually the graduation examination, and have to take an entrance examination according to the state rules and regulations. The D.Ed programme also takes into account the performance of the candidates in their higher secondary examination.
