ST Theresa Child Jesus School of Nursing Chennai is a self financed college for nursing education. It was set up in 1993 and is a co educational college residing in the city of Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The school, affiliated with INC, is spread over a small built up area of 3.5 acres of land. The institute in question has a total enrolment of 49 learners and faculty staff of 7, thus creating a small cohort learning atmosphere. At present, the school offers only one post associate specialised course in nursing a vital healthcare profession to assure quality education is offered in this area.

There is facility which is in the institute to improve the understanding of the students in this field. The library that has been considered as one of the most useful sources of academic information is a creation of international standard books and well designed furniture to accommodate them, and is scientifically classified. Practical skills training is provided through departmental based laboratories most important in nursing training school. Incase any of the students needs special arrangement, measures, there are private hostels for both boys and girls. The institute has also provided the guest rooms to the visiting faculties along with the family members of the students, making the campus more like a hotel environment.

St. Theresa of Child Jesus School of Nursing offers a focused curriculum with one primary course, the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course. This is a full time course which is carried over 3 years and allow the students train as nurse or midwives. The intake is limited to twenty students for this programme and the institute has officially been approved to admit such a number of students for this programme only to keep the ratio of students and teachers low enough to enable the institute give quality education to its students. This limited intake is in students to the college aims at improving quality education in producing competent nurses in the health sector.

Due to the fact that the nursing programme is specialised, and the number of openings is very low, it is advisable for any intending candidates to plan and apply early in advance.
