St. Thomas College was established in 1950 with its branches in Palai town of Arunapuram, Kerala. St. Thomas College, Palai, provides all general courses for under graduate and postgraduate level. There are 45 full time courses offered which include 19 undergraduate and 15 post graduate courses. Also, it includes 11 doctoral programmes to promote an advanced research learning experience. In the total, the intake of students in all courses is 2,806. The courses are B.Com, B.Sc in Zoology, Physics, Botany, BA Politics, English Language and Literature, Malayalam, and so on.
