St. Xavier’s College of Education was founded in 1950 in Tirunelveli is an autonomous institution relentlessly working for the cause of education. Established in 1987, this college is co-educational and is situated in Palayamkottai, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu and has an area of 3.72 acres The college offers a numbers of programmes in education. Affiliated to the university of Calcutta and recognised by the national assessment and accreditation council (NAAC) & approved by the national council for teacher education (NCTE) St. Xavier’s, over these seven successful decades has carved a niche for its self. In addition to the classes, the college facilities include laboratories, an auditorium, a canteen, playground with necessary sports facilities, and separate hostels for boys and girls.

The institution offer 6 full time courses, two part time courses and no online courses. The development also offers the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programmes with a capacity of one hundred while the Master of Education (M.Ed) has a capacity of fifty.
