St. Xavier’s College, Thumba is an affiliated college established in 1964 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Located on a vast area of 110 acre this university came into existence nearly 57 year ago and has been providing quality education to its students ever since. NAAC accredited, St. Xavier’s College currently provides fifteen courses in six degree programmes for a total enrolment of 1221 students. The college currently accepts more female students than males, and the current distribution is; 55% for undergraduate programmes and 78% for postgraduate programmes. Currently, there are 51 professors at the college hence the student-teacher ration offers individual attention as well as quality education.

St. Xavier’s College is modern facilities that foster effective support for the colleges’ academic activities. The library is blessed with over 28,524 books, 54 journals/magazines, 193 educational CDs and named after Arnos Padiri the Malayalam Jesuit Poet. Students get an attached laboratory, a rich IT equipment, and the free Wi-Fi access across the campus. There are provisions for health and fitness, the college provides gym and various other sports related facilities. However, female students have the privileges of having the hostel with a capacity of 60 residents solely for scholars who come from other towns or cities.

This college specifically offers the complete suites of under graduate and post graduate courses. These 14 undergraduate courses offer B.Com, B.Sc in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and several BA courses in Latin ,History, Economics and Languages. To cater the need of the advanced level studies the college impart two post graduate programmes namely M.Com and M.Sc Physics. All courses are offered on a full-time basis, thus fully responding to the college’s mission to provide students with intense and profound training. The total enrolment of students in all programmes is one thousand, one hundred and eleven The college has made it its tradition of producing sound graduates to handle the challenges of the 21 st century and the dynamics of the word profession.
