Affiliated college and hence, an institution of higher learning Star College of Education situated at Periyamanali, Namakkal District of Tamil Nadu was started in the year 2006. This co-educational institution approved by National council for teacher education is dedicated to teacher education. With an area of 5.04 acres of land the college has a limited space but is designed to provide the most concentrated faculty of Education for students interested in becoming teachers. Star College of Education has a total intake capacity of 100 students & 9 faculties which ensure each student get enough individual attention. Currently the institute is offering only one programme, that is Bachelors of Education (B.ED), which shows the institutes’ concern and provision of quality education to teachers.

Star College of Education has a variety of facilities intended for improvement of learning process and personal growth of students. The campus has hosted a boys’ hostel and girls hostel where students live in home like environment with proper care takers, wardens. A fully stocked library contains many reference books, journals and dailies for intense reading for improvement of knowledge. The college also has separate lab facilities in physical science, biological science, education technology, and psychology with a computerised Internet facility. For sports, there are good play fields with general courts for major sports and athletic games, and also available play fields, volleyball courts, basket ball court, stationary, gym and so on for the students who are interested in gymnasium activities. The college auditorium is used to accommodate various occasions and seminars, which has enhanced student activities on the college.

Star College of Education only offers admission to its B.Ed programme for which it has 50 seats. This is a two years course and the programme is full time and is aimed a preparing students for excellent careers in education. The structures of this college reflect its focus on academic excellence emphasising practical training of educators. Information regarding student graduation rates is however lacking but given the fact that the institution is focused on a single programme, there is potential for more effort in preserving educational quality in the production of teachers.
