This is the Suniti Kumar Chattopadhyay School of English and Foreign Languages Studies, an exalted constituent college of Assam University constructed way back in 1994. With almost three decades in language education, the institution guarantees quality teaching. It boasts an expansive 600 acres of land and 13 courses under 5 degree programmes on the bands of languages specialized in English, Arabic, and French. Having 16 dedicated faculty members resulted in an institution which provides focused and quality learning to the students. In general, language studies are associated with being committed to well-articulated comprehensive course offerings, postgraduate and research and diploma programs.

Facilities available in the institution include a kaleidoscope designed to enhance the academic and personal growth of students. Separate hostels for boys and girls, along with all the facilities, help ensure the comfort and convenience of stay away from home for the students. The Suniti Kumar Chattopadhyay School provides a total of 13 courses, which include full-time postgraduate, research, and diploma-level courses. Master's program: English, Arabic, French, and two-year courses are offered at the master's level of study. For students who are interested in research, two-year M. Phil programs are offered in both English and Arabic. For scholar aspirants, the school offers three-year Ph.D. courses in English, Arabic, and French.

Special programs undertaken are a one-year advanced diploma in French and a postgraduate diploma in proficiency in French, orienting students toward acquiring specialised language skills. The college, among its other courses, offers D.Litt programmes in English, Arabic, and French at the top of academic aspiration. The total approved intake into the Master's programmes is 113 seats with the maximum share going to MA English, which has 62 students.
