Surya College situated at Jagdalpur and was founded in the year 2005 it is an affiliated college situated in Chhattisgarh. Located on a small plot of 0.96 acres of land, this institution has gradually developed new courses within its campus. As of now, there are 27 great faculty members teaching 702 students in this college. Surya College maintains a program offering of 10 degree programs and 14 different courses that span across many areas of study and provide our graduates with the tools they need to persevere and find success in today’s world. This institution is well known for this course since it has been approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). 

The college can boast about the availability of a wide number of features to support student learning. The rich library is provided for the students to carry out research and also for further study on different topics. IDT 297: Many academic departments team up their courses with laboratories where students perform experiments, which are most helpful when the subject is sciences and technology. There is also a place for organizing seminars and meetings, comfortable guest room/waiting area for visitors and students’ families. Transport facilities are also provided in the institution in order to make transport means easily accessible by the students. Building-6 has provided adequate accommodation facilities with emphasis of enhancing health and spirit among the students through the available sports facilities, the availability of an adequate efficient space for group activities, meetings and events through the available auditorium. 

Surya College of Arts and Commerce at Jagdalpur has vibrant delivery of fourteen courses, out of which some are undergraduate and postgraduate. The course that are offered come under Arts, Commerce, Computer Applications, Science, Education and Social work fields of study. Some of the known ones are BA, BCA, B.Com, B.Sc BBA, MA Sociology, Political Science and Anthropology, B.ED, D.ED, MSW, and PGDCA. All the programs are taught full time and allow the worse student to be fully absorbed in the class to avoid learning during breaks. Total student intake in the college is 702 in all the programs offered, which clearly shows that the college’s policy on student enrollment is to admit quality number of students per class to achieve an ideal teacher student ratio for proper training and education. 

Basically, the admission policy in Surya College Jagdalpur is fairly standard, with merit as the overriding consideration and total transparency throughout the process. For other programs such as D.El.Ed and B.Ed, admission is according to the marks secured in the qualifying exam as well as entrance test in terms of rules and regulation of the state government and university respectively. Different courses in the college allow for application at any time of the year but the college has its fixed capacities for any given course. Although, the institution does not offer any comprehensively named scholarship program, it is recommended that any individuals aspiring to be learners to consult the college authorities on any available bursaries.
