Surya College of Nursing, Bangalore, was started in 2005 and is one of the well known college to study nursing in karnataka, India. Located on a 5 acre campus, Surya College of Nursing stands to provide a conducive environment for the learners. They offer three full nursing programmes which are B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) that caters for all the educational needs in the nursing sector.
Surya College of Nursing has placed at its disposal numerous facilities intended to fruitful the process of schooling and individual personal growth of the learners. The library contains more than three thousand, three hundred fifty books and is augmented every year by as many as two hundred to three hundred. It also has more contemporary services such as the Internet connection, CD ROM browsing and photocopying. To support clinical learning, the college has functional skills laboratories for each department equipped with current apparatus and articles required for practical nursing. The campus has accommodation facilities for out-station students are separate hostels for boys and girls to afford a secure and comfortable atmosphere. For health and recreation, the college has separate indoor and outdoor sports facilities like volley ball, basket ball, tennis, table tennis, chess etc. Also, there is an event and seminar hall, a canteen where students can have something to eat and a health facility with a small clinic where students can have first aid whenever they have accidents.
The institution provides three full-time courses. These include the B.Sc Nursing for four years, and Post Basic B.Sc Nursing for two years and General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) for four years. The B.Sc in Nursing and G.N.M courses intake for each course is 60 while the Post Basic B.Sc.Nursing course intake is 45.
