Sushrutha Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, of 2002 nature, is an affiliated college located in Bengaluru of Karnataka. It is a co-educational school that focused on Ayurvedic studies and services and is located on a large area of land of one hundred acres. It is recognised by the Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM) thus making it follow quality standards in offering the Ayurvedic courses. This medical College admits 500 students every year for its courses while employing a total of 44 faculty members, further enhancing eleven fold learning environment for students who wish to pursue Ayurveda. At present the college is having only one course The Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery BAMS for one hundred students annually sanctioned.

Sushrutha Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital has different facilities within it that can improve learning environment and health of students. The college library has a rich collection of 15000 books, videos and other digital sources required for teaching and learning AYUSH curriculum to the students. In its capacity as a digital library, it provides online journals and reprographic so that information can be easily accessed. To train them practically the college has its own, well-equipped laboratories for different departments and an herbal garden with more than 200 species of ayurvedic plants. This garden is very useful in their education and researchers’ works among the student fraternity. The campus also houses a health centre with first aid station, sporting infrastructure and an auditorium for meetings and lectures. To cater the need of the students in technological aspect, college offers IT infrastructure facilities.

Sushrutha Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital presented only one full time programme, known as Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS). This rich and detailed programme takes six years and supplies the student with extensive knowledge and practical experience of Ayurvedic system of medicine. To perform this programme , the college has an approved intake of one hundred (100) seats for this programme and which makes a total student population of five hundred (500). Graduation data might not be specific to the latest year but the existence of a single focused professional programme of the institution indicates its committed direction to Ayurvedic education.

The admission process in the Sushrutha Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital depends mostly on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET). Sushrutha Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital, Bangalore. The college is well known for Ayurvedic education. The college has a rigorous admission process that selects the right candidates for its BAMS course. The primary basis of the admission process is the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), thus ensuring that only the most competent students are admitted to the program.The college admits 100 students to its BAMS program every year. The program is recognized by the Central Council for Indian Medicine (CCIM). 

Completion of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects is eligibility for admission into Sushrutha Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital for BAMS program. Besides this, they need to achieve cut-off marks in NEET. General category students have to score at least 134 marks, OBC students 107 and SC & ST students 107. NEET, which is required for the admission process in college, is generally taken once a year. The website of NEET should be updated with the exact dates of exam, application and result declaration date. Once the results are published from NEET, the college shortlists the students with the scores obtained from the process during NEET.

Application Process

 c. Wait for the declaration of NEET results

2. Registration for Counselling:

- After the NEET results are declared, all the eligible candidates have to enroll themselves for counseling conducted by state authorities or according to the norms given by the college.

3. Document Verification

 - These documents are presented for verification in front of the shortlisted candidates:

  • Score card of NEET
  • Mark sheets of 10th and 12th standard
  • Proof of date of birth
  • Category certificate if applicable
  • Any other certificates which are required under the college byelaws,

4. Seat Allotment:  All the seats to be allotted as per the merit in NEET and the options exercised by the candidates.

5. Admission Confirmation

 - On allotment of seat, candidate has to present himself to the Sushrutha Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital within the period specified.

- Admission fees to be paid for, and all other formalities as regards to admission to be completed in the college.

6. Medical Exam

- Undergo a medical exam as per the requirement of the college to ensure medical fitness for the BAMS program.

BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery):

The Sushrutha Ayurvedic Medical College and Hospital's course for BAMS is an integrated six-year program. In the same course, the students achieve extensive knowledge while being provided practical exposure of Ayurvedic medicinal science. As admission is taken purely on a merit basis conducted through NEET exams for each applicant, therefore, it can be said as pretty competitive which offers 100 seats.

However I am considering that you are looking for an MBBS seat and belong to general category as you have not mentioned your category. According to last year's cut off general category candidates are required to score 580+ for an MBBS seat in government colleges. So it will be difficult for you to get a government seat. You can try in semi government or private colleges, there might be few chances of your admission. You can even try through Management Quota in private colleges, there are possibilities you can get admission in Karnataka since colleges there has low cut off.
