Existence of Susila College of Education was established in the year 2008 and is a teacher training college situated in Villupuram, Tamil Nadu. This is a co-educational institute which comes under the Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University and the premise is committed to produce future teachers. Situated in a limited area of 1.4 acres, it strives to provide the four-year duration Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme which is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Susila College of Education offers education on training teachers with total intake of 187 students and faculties of 16 members.

Susila College of Education has instituted several amenities that would complement the learning process of the learners. A well equipped library is a centre of reference and collection of academic resources and references. There is also provided the accommodation for departmental laboratories and work places which is imperative for training teachers. The college upholds good standard information technology due to current trends in education practices. On the compound, there is an auditorium where various occasions take place and seminars strengthen the thought processes and skills. The college has concern for the welfare of the students and to support this, there is a health centre with first aid amenities. For the entire growth and development of the students, sporting amenities are provided to each student. Susila College of Education presently has only one full time course that it awards which is the Bachelor of Education programme. This proposed two-year programme and must admit 100 students at a time, although the intakes must not compromise the quality education that the institution provides and to accommodate a high number of the aspiring teachers. The B.Ed programme aims at preparing students with standards and provisions in pedagogy in order to practice good teaching.

The admission policy in Susila College of Education is based on the norms of State Government, UT administration and university affiliation. Selection to various courses is based on the marks that students have scored in the qualifying examination and/or any entrance examination. The college however may also use other methods of selection as provided by the existing policies.
