SVS College of Education, Tumakuru began in 2008 and is one of the leading teacher training colleges in Tumakuru district at Karnataka, India. National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) accredited SVS College of Education and it is imparting quality teacher education programmes. The institute is located on Kunigal Road at Banashankari, Tumakuru with 195 total intake of students and having only 10 faculties which ensures the personal care for the students who aspire to become teachers.

SVS College of Education at present has only one full-time course for which it is accredited, the Bachelors in Education (BEd). This is a two-year programme and the college’s approved intake for this programme is 50 students This is because the college’s management has remained particular on the quality of education it offers, and this can only be made possible through enrolment of only 50 students for each batch. The course structure and designationale of B.Ed. course is that, in order to produce qualified teachers, trained to meet the challenges of the modern educational systems, prepare oneself with required skill, knowledge and teaching-learning-teaching strategies.

At SVS College of Education, students are admitted strictly based on merit, as directed by the state government, U.T. Administration, and the affiliated university. It is established depending on the marks in the qualifying test plus 2 or entrance test or other procedure as per the policy on this regard from time to time.
