Swami Darshnanand Institute of Management and Technology Polytechnic, Haridwar, was established in the year 2009. This co-educational institute is affiliated to the state technical university and offers diploma courses in the different streams of Engineering. The institution has been approved by AICTE and is working diligently to maintain quality technical education. Having 41 dedicated faculty members, SDIMT Polytechnic aims at fostering skilled technicians and engineers. The institute has four diploma programs with diversified students, an adequate infrastructure for practical industry-oriented training to turn out students into successful technocrats.

Its infrastructure comprises a plethora of ultra-modern facilities for the all-around development of students. Swami Darshnanand Institute of Management and Technology Polytechnic has well-equipped laboratories for Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electrical, and Electronics to gain practical experience. SDIMT Polytechnic has four full-time diploma courses, all running for a period of three years. These programmes include Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science Engineering. The institute has an approved intake of 210 seats in its various programs, which itself speaks to the effort put into making a good number of skilled technicians every year.
