Swami Dayanand College of Education, Bathinda, is an affiliated college established in 2005 in Punjab, India. Being a co-educational institute, recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education, it is engaged in offering teacher education programmes. Located on a 3.5 acres of land, the college comprises two full time courses that enrol 125 students and employs 19 members of the faculty. This institute aims at offering courses in Bachelor of Education and Diploma in Elementary Education. It is, therefore, the vision of Swami Dayanand College of Education to bring about improvement in the education sector in future more so through its commitment to the provision of quality education coupled with modern facilities for learning.
Swami Dayanand College of Education has produced several structures to facilitate the learning ability of its students. A library with adequate infrastructure is a treasure trove of knowledge including more than 6646 books, 21 journals, both national and international and 6 magazines. There is a medical centre on the school compound which offers treatment for simple ailments and diseases but in cases of emergencies the college uses the Government Civil Hospital.
For physical development, the college has facilities in athletic, volley ball, football, badminton and indoor games and the equipment. The IT facility comprises of a computerised air conditioned unit with thirty modern machines and internet broadband connection. Others facilities include a campus canteen, a hall for conducting events /seminars, and transport with buses for intra-campus transport.
Swami Dayanand College of Education provides two major teaching education programmes. The B.Ed has 200 seats and the D.El. Ed course has 50 seats for the student intake. Both are comprehensive, regular programmes which take two years to complete studies. The courses pay much attention to the idea of training professional teachers which would improve the promotion of their students into successful teachers. With a capacity of 250 students in the two programmes, the institution has the challenge of preparing future educators within the region.

The admission policy followed at Swami Dayanand College of Education includes academic performance in the qualifying examination along with entrance test. The admission policies of the college are the policies formed by the state government, UT administration, and the affiliated university. The college also has a Training and Placement Cell with specific responsibilities to guide the students in regard to careers and give information on employment opportunities. This cell also arranges seminars and group discussions on the various fields of career and job interviews and preparing CVs for placements and higher learning of a student from university to professional world. In addition, Alumni Association allows one keep closer with the institute or university as well as fellow graduates hence social network.
