Swami Sarvanand Institute of Management and Technology more commonly known by its abbreviated form of SSIMT was founded in 1999 and is situated in Gurdaspur-Punjab. This affiliated college, which is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), has a wide opportunity in providing different courses in different fields. It has long been a desire of the institute to be having its own compound and God has in his divine providence made that possible; the institute has 10.6 acres of land devoted to learning and development. It has a total enrollment of 912 students and provides 19 courses in 12 undergraduate and postgraduate programs in the fields of management, technology, agriculture and hospitality.

SSIMT takes responsibility to offering fully equipped modern facilities to support learning of its students. It has a well stacked, air-conditioned library with a stock of more than 18,000 books across disciplines science, technology, management, agriculture etc. They can view e-journals, previous year question papers and are exposed to a rich compilation of references. 

To support students’ educational processes, the campus has functional educational labs for practical activities, an auditorium for organizing events and seminars, and an IT infrastructure to implement digital education projects. In its bid to learner student in all dimensions, SSIMT provides sporting amenities, gym, and health care that includes an emergency treatment station. The institute also has separate hostel facilities to accommodate the outstation students; boys’ hostel and girls’ hostel.

The courses offered at SSIMT include a wide range of academic programs that total 19 courses that are offered depending on the education goals of the students. Some of these are full time undergraduate and postgraduate, diploma courses among others. The institute allocated the following capacities: BCA – 150; MCA – 120; B.Sc Agriculture (Hons) – 90; MBA – 60; etc. SSIMT also offers the following specialized courses M.Sc (Information Technology), Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for 18-60 seats. The different courses being offered are an indication of the institute’s objectives of offering quality education and training in different fields to enable students to fit into the current dynamic job market.

Admission to Swami Sarvanand Institute of Management and Technology is a holistic process and based on merit only. There is one principal qualification regarding the academic performance of the candidate as it concerns the entrance examination in the institute. Further, in some programs, there are entrance exams required but the exact exams accepted by the institute are unrecognized in the data. SSIMT has a Training and Placement Cell which helps in facilitating campus interviews and in fact, helps in being a mediator between the company and the students in the matter of Interview. This cell is indispensible as it helps in moving the students from campus to corporate world with ease.
