This paper aims to present the findings on the establishment of Swami Vivekananda College of Education, situated in Perambalur, Tamil Nadu, India which was set up in the year 2006 as a dedicated college for the training of teachers. Located in a small 1 acre plot, this is a co-educational college which opens only a refined course B.ED. It is affiliated to Karnatak University and recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education NCTE It claims to uphold education standards by being an affiliated college. The college has 178 students enrolled and it has a faculty 13 members and this enables the students to be prepared well to become excellent teachers.
Swami Vivekananda College of Education has a number of achievements relating to infrastructural development that seeks to complement learning among the students. This programme will take two years and the institute has an approved admission capacity of one hundred students because the institute places a lot of emphasis on quality education as well as the size of the classes. The B.ED programme has been structured to offer student, teaching profession skills and knowledge. There seems to be no particular information on the number of graduates as such but the college heavily invested in teacher education hence its specialised characteristics and amenities.
