Swami Vivekananda Degree and PG College, Karimnagar Facilities Details: Hostel, Campus, Infrastructure, Library, Canteen

The Lab is equipped with 150 computers of latest and advanced configuration. The students are provided with basic and advanced manuals that contain simulations of actual industrial requirements to facilitate students’ adaptability to corporate needs.

There are separate labs for the UG and PG sections. The labs are spacious and well-furnished with models, charts, specimens, glassware, microscopes, and other materials required for practicals. There is a separate well-established plant tissue culture laboratory. The major equipment of the lab includes a spectrophotometer, centrifuge, chromatography chamber, microscopes, etc. Every student is made to handle the instruments and perform the experiments

The college has a Physical education is an intrinsic component of total education. The physical activities make the students develop physically, emotionally, and mentally. The college provides well-equipped infrastructural facilities and students are motivated to practice and are encouraged to participate in sports and games, The Vivekananda college student teams participate every year in the inter-collegiate tournaments organized by Satavahana University. Coaching camps are organized periodically about various sports and games like Cricket, Volleyball, Basketball, Athletics, Chess, Caroms, Softball, and Kabaddi. Since the inception of the college, our students have been representing Kakatiya University (from 1993 to 2008) and Satavahana University (from 2009 to till date). Our students are bringing laurels to the institution with their performance and achievements in sports and games at University, State, and National levels. The college organizes intra-mural tournaments every year separately for UG and PG students to encourage the participation of a maximum number of students in sports and games and to bring out their real talents.

The college has two well-stocked libraries (separate for UG and PG sections). The library has around 12000 books covering all the areas of sciences, commerce, and business management. About 30 journals of national and international repute including 10 daily newspapers in Hindi, Telugu, and English are regularly subscribed. The students have the benefit of updating their knowledge on various aspects with the help of journals, magazines, and other periodicals. Each library has comfortable reading rooms with a seating capacity of fifty. The services offered by the library are circulation, consultation, reference, and inter-library loan.

The college has set up a Placement Cell since the inception of the college. The main objective of the cell is to train and assist all the students from various streams of the college in getting placements in various MNCs and well-renowned companies, The main objectives of the placement cell are to give career guidance and make the students get proper and suitable job, To create a platform for job opportunities and communicate the same to students aspiring for employment, To maintain a cordial relationship with industry and to minimize the gap between industry and our institution, Organizing guest lectures/workshops/seminars by eminent speakers from industry and entrepreneurs in various areas like personality development, communication skills, career opportunities, etc, To guide the students to complete their project work/internship in various reputed industries/companies.

The NCC is a youth empowerment establishment. Its functional range covers every corner of the nation. It inculcates nationalism and secularism in youth. NCC develops character, courage, comradeship, discipline, leadership, and ideals of selfless service among the youth. It guides the youth to understand the interrelationship between man and the community, between community and nature, and their interdependency. The NCC is a tri-service organization comprising the army, navy, and air wings. It is a voluntary organization open to boy and girl candidates.

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a central government-sponsored public service program that functions under the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt. of India. The NSS scheme was started in Mahatma Gandhiji’s Centenary year, 1969. It is a voluntary organization in universities and colleges (degree & junior colleges) working for student-society linkage.
