Newly Launched with the name Swarnalata School of Nursing Studies in the year 2014, Bahugram Odisha is only known as a Sloan College. Established for women only, it got the approval of the Indian Nursing Council (INC) to provide specialised nursing education on its 4.2-acre small but compact campus. The school offers 60 student intake and 7 faculty members, which ensures quality education for the nursing students. Off late, the institute has focused on providing quality education and raising paramedical personnel; presently, it only has the degree course of Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM).

The school has a long list of facilities to support a complete programme in nursing. The school library and learning resource centre contains a number of text books, reference books, magazines, and journals that are professional in content and are a very useful source of learning for both students and the teaching staff. The laboratory of the institute is adequate for support of the theoretical knowledge in human anatomy and physiology, which include articulated skeletons, different bone models, and educational charts. Larger than an ordinary classroom and properly ventilated to cater for more than sixty students, the school has besides audio-visual rooms as well as seminar halls. Other facilities constituting the campus are sports facilities, an event hall, and a health facility equipped with first aid.

Swarnalata School of Nursing Studies currently offers a single course: It students improved their performance at the Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) programme. This is a full-time course that spans for two years and the approved annual cohort size is 30 students. The ANM programme is going to enable the students to attain the right skills and knowledge in nursing so as to be able to perform essential functions in healthcare systems. This is because the institute is specialised in this area of study, making it easier to accord this area the attention it deserves.
