It is the Swasthya Kalyan Institute of Naturopathy and Yogic Science, Jaipur, Rajasthan, an institution mainly engaged in imparting education in Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences. This affiliated college was set up in 2007 and has been fostering students in the area of alternative medicine for more than 10 years. Located in a relatively small plot of 2 acres in the RIICO Institutional Area, Sitapura, the institute has a perfect synergy of an ancient system of treatments or therapies and a modern approach to learning. Presently the total number of students is 209 and the number of faculty members is 21, so there is a proper and limited interaction between students and teachers.
The institute boasts a variety of amenities to improve students’ experiences, as follows: The campus has provided the different hostel facilities for the boys and girls so it can provide the outstation students with a comfort stay. A library with all the necessary educational requisites provides a knowledge and information centre, and necessary IT equipment enables the students to remain in touch with the technologies. For the people who have an interest in physical activities, the institute offers a gym and sporting amenities. HMO is provided by a health centre that caters for the health care needs of the learners with first aid services offered within the campus. It still has an event and seminar venue, practical skill demonstration laboratories, and food courts for students. A transport facility helps to address transport challenges among the students and staff.
The institute’s core programme is the BNYS programme, which extends over four and a half years. This is the basic five and a half-year course of the institute, which brought an overall idea of naturopathy and yoga. This course, BNYS, also forwards some of its students on the basis of NEET scores, which is the standard set by the Government of India for admission to the MBBS/BDS course. However, there is still limited information on the number of functional seats and fee structure, but the absolute student capacity of the institute is set at 209, which speaks of the segregation of this sub-discipline of science in the educational programme.
For admission to the BNYS programme at Swasthya Kalyan Institute of Naturopathy and Yogi Science College, the key entrance exam is NEET. This examination verifies that the students entering the programme possess an adequate amount of knowledge of the basic sciences presupposed for the study of naturopathy and yogic sciences at the national level. The institute uses the Pre Ayurved Test (PAT) for admission qualification, although this path is accepted for students with an interest in the institute. These.Tests contribute to addressing the problem of quality of intake so that those enrolled really meet the challenge of the academic curriculum expected from them.
