One of such institution in relatively young state of Punjab is Swift School of Pharmacy, Patiala, which was established in 2008. This is a co-educational institution situated in the village of Ghaggar Sarai, Tehsil Rajpura, with an area of campus size 2.8-acres; here efficiency meets with quality. Unfortunately, Swift School of Pharmacy, because of affiliating itself with Gujarat University, PCI-approved college, has seen itself vying for a place as a competent college to produce proficiency in the pharmaceutical stream. A central dining hall caters international food products, and the operation is undertaken by the students under supervision from a steering committee. Further, it has a modern gymnasium, playing, and recreation room and provisions for playing indoor and outdoor games to ensure students lead an active, healthy life on the campus.
These courses provided by Swift School of Pharmacy covers almost all the spectrums of the pharmaceutical field. The institute currently provides three full-time programmes: pharmacy includes a 4-year first degree known as the Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) and two 2-year post-first degree Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharma) in Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology. The B.Pharma programme, which formed the basis of the institute's programme, has been approved for an intake of 100 students, which has best depicted the outlook among the students for the course along with the institute’s ability to groom future pharmacists. The ambit for the enrolment for the M.Pharma courses is not defined in precise terms, but these post-graduation courses allow the students to gain more extensive knowledge in the domains of pharmacy and develop their prowess in research.
