Symbiosis School of Photography, Pune (SSP) is a constituent institute under the Symbiosis International (Deemed University) set up in the year 2012. At Gram-Lavale, Tal-Mulshi, Pune, Maharashtra, this school is co-educational and has a focus on the area of otherwise scanning visual arts and photography. SSP offers two unique programmes: a 3 years Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts and Photography and a one year Diploma in Digital Cinematography. The institute offers a highly personalised student and faculty environment with total student intake of 130 and a faculty strength of 6. The BA programme alone has 50 seats which are inclusive in the institute so as to maintain quality education in visual art. 

SSP has all the attributes of a learning institution to support its specialised programmes. Students fairs with well equipped laboratories facilitate the practical area of photography and other arts. The library undertakes the role of a resource centre where a collection of books, journals and other digital materials in the field are stored. In as far as the physical health is concerned, the Student Service Programme offers a sports area, and sprung floor for gym classes in order to help students achieve good health from exercise. There is also an auditorium for various events, seminars and programmes, for the great student and cultural life. The infrastructural development in the IT sector is excellent to make provision for the necessary technology that is central to digital photography/cinematography among students. A cafeteria and guest rooms improve the quality and comfort of the organizational environment.

There are a total of two full time programmes offered at Symbiosis School of Photography which include full time courses that will give the students a rigorous all round training in the visual arts. The BA in Visual Arts and Photography is a full 3- year programme with an approved capacity of taking in 50 students while the Diploma in Digital Cinematography is specialised, one- year course. These programmes cover different facets of visual narration whether still or motion. The total fees payable for the BA programme is ₹13,20,000/- and the Diploma programmewhereby a highly subsidised fees of ₹2,00,000/- is charged, is to make sure that high quality education and access to quality and relevant resources. 

The admission of candidates to Symbiosis School of Photography is organized in such a manner as to enroll only creative and oriented people. In the case of the BA Photography programme, they actually select students using what they refer to as Creative Visualisation and Personal Interaction (CVPI). It helps the institute not only to evaluate technical productivity but also to estimate the creativity and individuality of the candidates.
