Symbiosis School of Planning Architecture and Design, Nagpur: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Symbiosis School of Planning Architecture and Design Nagpur [SSPAD] is the constituent college of Symbiosis International University established in the Mouza-Wathoda, Nagpur, Maharashtra. This mixed gendered school provides a number of distinct courses in architecture and design. The Council of Architecture accredits SSDAP, which means the programme is interested to offer the best education in architecture. The institute has a faculty of 9 including directors and members who ensure individual attention to each student. Currently, SSPAD runs 4 courses in 3 degree programs where we tutor in architecture, communication design and industrial design at both under graduate and post graduate levels. 

SSPAD has other infrastructures equipped with modern growth features that enable students to learn and flourish. The institute extends it internet connection throughout the campus so that student can have free-flowing and unbounded access of the internet. A well-stocked main library functions as a centre of excellence, which provides books, journals and online databases. They also get a cafeteria where learners can relax, mingle and rest for a while before they resume classes. The college also feature a hall which is used in events, seminars, cultural activities and any other general meeting. With regards to health and safety, there exist a health center to support first aid services in the facility. The university also provides guests with accommodation facilities on campus: To facilitate the visits of teacher- guests and students’ families. Other services include banking with ATM machines planted within the compound. Categorized into full-time courses, SSPAD provides many programs to answer different facets of design and architecture. 

Among institutes academic list of programs there offered courses include B.Arch, B.Des in Communication Design, B.Des in Industrial Design, M.Des in Communication Design. The total intake approved for the undergraduate programme is 100 students, for B.Arch it is 40 and for both B. Des there are 30 seats each. At Inter-national level: The M.Des program’s intake capacity is not specified. 

The admission requirements at SSPAD differ with the program being offered to the prospective students. For the B.Arch program, admissions are based on a combination of factors: The NATA or the JEE (Paper second) holds 50 percent of the total weightage, the marks obtained in the requisite qualifying examination for 10+ 2 or equivalent examination is 30 percent while a personal interview carries 20 percent weightage. To enter the B.Des programs, candidates must, first of all, take the Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design commonly known as SEED. The above SEED score is valid for one year and is required for admission to these programs. SSPAD also recognizes score on Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) for appropriate course offerings. The institute has always followed a liberal policy which means that the students applying for admission are selected based on their ability and character and not their performance.
