Takshila College of Education, Patna, was basically established in the year 2012; it is a premier teacher education institution in the state of Bihar, India. The aim of this co-educational, university-affiliated college is to move ahead with the rise of emerging educators. The campus is compact, spread over 0.785 acres, and the institution is located at Abdul Rahmanpur, Hinduni, Phulwari Sharif. It is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi, to assure quality education. Takshila College of Education has an enrolment of 200 students and 30 faculty members and offers a warm learning environment to develop better personnel in personal and professional life.
It contains a host of facilities supporting the learning process. The library is well-stocked and acts as a knowledge hub. There are departmental laboratories to provide hands-on experience in learning. The commitment of the institution to all-round development is reflected through sports, gymnastics, aeration, with emphasis on physical fitness as much as on academics. A spacious auditorium has been provided for events and seminars. Welfare of students has been another area of prime concern, and as such separate Boy's/Girl's facilities exist ensuring that the stay is comfortable for those coming from far-off places. A canteen to satisfy the culinary needs of students and staff members and a health centre with first-aid facilities to deal with medical concerns. The IT infrastructure is good and is integrated into current pedagogy so as to make the students aware of living and working in the digital age. Adequate parking facility is also available for faculty, staff, and students.
Till now, Takshila College of Education imparts only one primary course: the Bachelor of Education course (B.Ed). It is a two-year regular, full-time course. The design of the course ensures that it equips the students with concepts and skills for successful teaching.
Admission to Takshila College of Education is on a merit basis and in accordance with policies framed by the state government/UT administration and affiliated university. Admissions of students shall be made based on their performance in qualifying examination, entrance test, and any other selection process as laid down by the authorities. This will ensure an all-round approach toward admitting only the most meritorious and capable to the B.Ed. course in the institution.
