Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya, established in the year 1948, is one of the prominent educational institutions in Purba Medinipur, West Bengal. The college is NAAC accredited College - affiliated with this college offer students wide range of courses at undergraduate as well as at post graduate levels of studies. The campus covers 8.49 acres with a total student strength of 1974. Best known for its 24 courses over 8 degrees, this institute has a faculty strength of 66. Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya promotes BA quality in education, which is certain with the approval of NCTE.

Tamralipta Mahavidyalaya offers many facilities to make college life enriching. The library has grown with increasing demands because of its multifaceted faculty. For sports enthusiasts, a developed playground of 399.85 sq mt provides the perfect venue for athletic activities such as holding tournaments of football and cricket. On the whole, admission into the college is strictly on merit basis and merit alone is considered by adding marks gained in the qualifying examinations. In some special programmes, such as B.Ed, entrance examination or other selection procedures may be resorted to following state government and university policies.
