Tathagat Teachers Training College, Dhanbad: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Tathagat Teacher’s Training College is one of the multi facility teacher training institutions situated in the city of Dhanbad, Jharkhand established in the year of 2005. It is a co-educational college located in a small plot of 0,78 acre and its primary focus is to produce qualified educators. Approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and it is a constituent unit of University. It imparts two teaching specialisation programmes. Tathagat Teachers Training College take 154 students in total and has 15 members in faculty which makes it a small but effective College to learn teaching .

There are students’ practical amenities in the college that are meant to improve the learning process and students’skills. A well developed library resource center is crucial as it provides critical tools needed by student in their scholarly endevears. The institution respects the health factor, meaning that they equip the students with sports facilities as well as a gym to enhance on their health. Meeting the technological demands of the versatile world of education the college has developed sophisticated IT facilities. In matters concerning medical emergencies, a health centre with features of a first aid centre lies within campus. There is also the provision of an auditorium for events and seminars and the overall attitude of the college appears to be fully academic. Most cafeterias are set up as a place for students and staff to rest and mingle with their colleagues. Moreover, there are guest facilities for the faculty visitors and family members of the students and ample waiting areas provided in the college.

This college introduced two full time courses both which take two years to complete. The B.Ed course and the D.El.Ed course both have admitted capacity of 100 students and the total number of seats are 200. The courses offered in these programmes are meant to prepare the students in matters relating to education field. Completion of these two main programmes can facilitate more intensive concentrations focus on teacher education that equips students with skills to practice fruitful careers in diverse contexts of education.

The admission process in Tathagat Teachers Training College is based on merit scores received in the qualifying or entrance test. Admission policy of the college is in accordance with the state government of Jharkhand and the university to which it is affiliated. The selection criterion for the B.Ed programme is either through the score obtained in the qualifying exam or through a special mode of selection made for the course. Likewise, for the purpose of admission into the D.El.Ed programme , merit is taken into consideration strictly as per norms set by state government or UT administration.
