College was good with facilities and infrastructure too as it was old building with average facilities to us. College having library , sport facility to play cricket, football and basketball. Many things like hostel, seminar hall were under construction.
I am highly motivated and thankful to all the faculty members who support me , help me and guiding me for better future. All the teachers are really too good they makes us ready for the jobs and helps us in all aspects.
College placement was just an average and there was also not particular cell made for it. As many visits, workshops , extracurricular activities to develop skills were organized but for the context of placement it need improvement.
Thakur College of Engineering and Technology (TCET) offers commendable infrastructure, among the best in the region. The campus features well-equipped classrooms and laboratories with advanced technological tools like AC, smart boards, digital boards. The institute also has its own massive, beautiful auditorium often used by nearby colleges and schools. Also, there are well equipped Seminar halls, Learning Resource Centre with a digital library, Company centers such as TATA and INTEL service labs, clean living spaces in hostels. the entire campus, including the canteen is kept in excellent condition. It is indeed a conducive learning environment.
I am 4th-Year Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Student at Thakur College of Engineering and Technology (TCET). The education quality is excellent, with a focus on both core electronics and IT Software/Coding for overall development and better placements. As an autonomous college, TCET keeps its curriculum up-to-date, reviewed every six months by the Board of Syllabus Committee, which I am a student representative of. The experienced faculties and the blend of software and hardware subjects offered by E&TC dept ensures that we are job ready and well prepared for the competition outside.
The placement scenario at TCET, is steadily improving as compared to various institutes. Many tech giants and MNCs visit for recruitment, with HR conducting sessions to prepare students. The T&P cell is highly recognized of TCET. The highest salary package from my Department-E&TC is 19 LPA, and the highest in the institute is 40 LPA. The average salary package is around 4 LPA. The placement process is smooth with various opportunities and support. Training starts in the 3rs-Year, with additional Industry Practice sessions and Employability Skills Development Workshops.
Each course at TCET, costs around 1.50+ Lakhs per year, with additional optional charges for hostels and student development committee memberships. While the infrastructure and placement opportunities are commendable, the placement in hardware sector for E&TC is lacking. The course fee is high, but various scholarships such as EBC, TSDW, OBC and other government schemes are available.
TCET, Mumbai offers a vibrant campus life with numerous extra & Co-curricular activities such as seminars, webinars, Talks, workshops, conferences, cultural and technical festivals, industry and alumni programs, sports, hackathons, and competitions. Students have access to professional bodies, technical clubs, community service clubs, and MUNs, enhancing overall development. The location is convenient and safe with nearby banks, markets, police stations, clinics and low transportation costs. The campus is well-equipped to handle emergencies due to visiting doctors and sick rooms within campus and with nearby police stations.
The college infrastructure is the best and has amazing aura for the students . Students who comes for engineering to this college is worth beause they will get a wonderful environment for studing well
College has its own portion in the Mumbai University as it is serving as an autonomous college. The college has amazing portion and many things they teach are very much valuable and it is worth for students.
College has a good placements for the IT Sector. The students from IT and Comp branch has a very good opportunity from this college to get a very good placements because many IT companies are coming in this college
Yess college has scholarship schemes for the one's who are not able to afford . For the students who are under Backward classes they have a scholarship scheme and they can also be part of this college.
Campus Life is very amazing and motivating for the students who lives in the college campus because it has a good architecture and environment of the college is very much good for the students for studying.
Thank you
My college has almost all the facilities, equipment and necessary infrastructure. Classrooms have working AC , projectors , white boards . Laboratories have all the necessary equipments , library also have decent collection of books . Hostel facilities are also available.
I am currently pursuing BE in Electronics and telecommunications department. Most teachers of our department has great experience ( more than 10 years). Even in core branches they conduct development programs to make everyone job ready.
Placement have been decent in past years but last year it was 50 to 60 percent due to market situation. The average salary was bet 5 to 8 lakhs. They are providing internship opportunities also. Decent umbers of companies coming for on campus placement so you have to develop skills to get placed.
BE courses costs around 1.5 lakh per year for general category.
Overall the experience was good. It is in Kandivali east , so transportation is also easy.
The College infrastructure is pretty good . Labs and Classroom conditions are very good . Each Lab and classroom is provided with two A.C's . It has good Library facilities . Other than Classrooms students are provided with study rooms for self-study which also have wifi service.
I have taken electronics and telecommunication course. The teaching quality is pretty average but there are some faculties how are really good and supportive. The curriculum gets always updated .The college provides flexibility in curriculum with elective subjects.
Placement is avarage .The majority of companies are from IT Industries . The highest package is 19.5 LPA, the average package is 4 LPA and the Lowest package is 3 LPA.The placement process is really competitive .The college provides training to clear interviews and aptitude rounds.
Value for money will depend on person-to-person.My course cost somewhere around 1,50,000. I don't feel getting my money's worth . But there are many schemes which can help to reduce fees. Government scheme for EBC students can reduce the fees till 80,000.
The campus life of college is perfect. The college conducts many activities like cultural fest, technical fest, hackathons, sports fest, etc. The location is really safe . Just next to the college, there is a police station in case some emergency comes up.
Our college has a good spacious ground and halls , so as per the infrastructure our college is good and there are adequate facilities and equipments available. Our classrooms are spacious and air-conditioned with 2 ac's in each class, same with laboratories and libraries. All the fans and Ac's work well. The sitting chairs in the labs are very uncomfortable and old fashioned which are somewhat hurtful to sit on for a lecture. While the chairs in other department are well. The living spaces are clean and well maintained regularly and the food is decent and hygienic as well .
I'm studying Electronics and Communication Engineering and I took this branch because I had no other options. The quality of teaching in our college is quite minimal and not upto the mark. Our college just focuses on syllabus based on the academics and doesn't enhance our skills more on the market demands and requirements of the industry. The teachers at our branch are well qualified and educated but still I feel there is a lack of independence of a student to pursue his desires as in a career and the faculties are somewhat rude sometimes and also too very friendly sometimes which I don't like about this. Yes the course is said to make us job ready in our domains but I would say it won't be upto the mark
Placements at our college are very unrealistic something claiming good packages but basically the placement are 3-5 lakhs p.a. on average and about only 30% of students were placed in our last batch and then had to get to the rounds again to be placed. Yeah the college is supportive but the T&P Cell is the worst department of TCET. Specially the incharges of the department as they just carry out their aptitude and quant prep during college and after college hours which is really not worth it as of my experience and later on get a low wage position in a company that they assign us. I would rather develop industry demand skills and land a better job instead of the placement cell of our college of the time I waste in their Training and placement program.
Not value for money, but decent as a job ready engineer as the college provides with good educational and professional development which leads on to a decent job, but afterall placements for our department didn't really seem good.
Its been a roller coaster of campus life at here , firstly the friends I've made here are truly amazing! And the activities and events at here are fun and engaging as well. Overall its been a good experience here
The college has all the necessary infrastructure, it has all the labs to learn the practical applications of the theory studied during the coursework. in some of the labs there is network issues but the internet issue can be solved by using the LAN cables. The canteen is average here, but the books in libraries are not that good and updated.
I am Studying about Electronics and the Telecommunication operations at TCET. The faculty here is amazing they have in depth knowledge about the subjects. The syllabus is not that updated, and the departments attendance criteria is strictly 75%
The Placements here in TCET is average. the median salary for the past 2 years has been dropped to 3.2 LPA the recession can be a reason. most of the companies that comes for hiring are the IT companies the scope for the CORE engineering branches in this college is quite less.
Actually i grabed a government scholarship so i am paying 70% less fees as compared to others so considering my scenario i am getting a high ROI . my every year spending for education in this college is around 40K.
The Campus life here in TCET is amazing there are non-technical and technical committes, clubs etc the college conducts its annual fest that is Zephyr which is a amazing event. by participating in various clubs the student ha the opportunity to explore himself/herself.
Yes college have all the necessary infrastructure, facilities and equipment. We have wifi in classroom and laboratory facilities and all are well maintained. Living space is hygienic and we'll maintained
I have graduated in mechanical engineering stream in year 2020. Quality of teaching is good and as now college is autonomous so curriculum is updated and college have now started new specialization in field of data science and artificial intelligence
Placement is decent as in non core domain there is good opportunity but in core domain the opportunity is less I am not aware of current condition as I am graduated in way back 2020 so it's better if someone can tell about opportunities in core domain
college infrastructure was very good. We had radiant cooling system in whole campus. For Mechanical Engineering we had lathe machine and CNC machine and all the equipments needed for studying mechanical engineering. Good quality classroom and Labs.
Although the college is autonomous but we had too many assignments and write-ups. Some of the teachers were very knowledgeable like Pawan Tiwari Sir, Iqbal Mujawar and Neha mam. Our college has recently started the AI Course also.
Very few core companies came for Mechanical Engineering Placement , mostly the mechanical engineering students got placed in IT companies around 3.3 LPA average CTC. Our college gave the necessary Coding classes and college was very supportive.
My per year fees was around 130000 Rs. I have fees was better than other Autonomous colleges.
Hey Aspirant!
Both the colleges are 'A' Graded College with various facilities like :
Fee Structure of Thakur College is higher than Pune Vidyarthi Griha’s College. But placement stats of Thakur College is lot better than of Pune Vidyarthi Griha’s College and Faculty as well as Infrastructure are better than of Pune Vidyarthi Griha’s College .
Also you can compare them in Careers360 website: https://www.careers360.com/compare-colleges

Hello,
Few colleges accept various other exams too. So check whether the colleges you want admissions in accept any other exam or not. If they do you can apply for them and then get admissions in the college you like. If they don't then maybe there won't be any other way. Few college accept admissions through Management Quota too. So you can check whether the colleges you want admissions accept Management Quota or not. You can even call the respective colleges and ask them what are the different ways of admissions other than TCET.
