Thavathiru Kundrakudi Adigalar College of Education for Women (TKCEW) Sivagangai is a women’s college exclusively for education which came into existence in the year of 2008. This affiliated college is set in Kundrakudi Village, Thiruppathur Taluk, Sivagangai, on a plot of only 0.51719 acres in extent. This institute is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) indicating the seriousness of the institute in providing quality teachers. The college has a total of 90 students and teachers offering the college services while 10 are members of the faculty. The single course offered is the B.Ed programme which explains the institutes direct approach in training teachers.

The college has had the opportunity to put and develop several facilities that would complement the learning process of the students. The library has an extensive reference accumulating over 5300 books ranging from education, philosophy, self-help, research and many more. It also periodically update collection, journals, magazines and periodicals, which help them to increase and update them with the current trends of education and researches. Altogether, IT facility of the college is very strong with modern educational technologies, making students familiar with it. All courses taught in the institute address how technology, from virtual classrooms to video conferencing, can be incorporated into teaching approaches. 

Thavathiru Kundrakudi Adigalar College of Education for Women provides only one course, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course. This is a full time course which spans two years and has an approved capacity to take fifty students per year. The content focus of the programme will make sure that future teachers are well equipped to teach in those conditions. Despite the fact that the college presents only one type of the degree programme, it can provide rather intensive preparation and focus on every learner. The total admission capacity of the institute is 90 for all the courses offered under the institute and hence all the admitted students are enroled in B.Ed programme.

Thavathiru Kundrakudi Adigalar College of Education for Women also strictly follows the admission policy which provisions admission on merit basis with reference to the marks obtained in the qualifying examination with or without entrance examination. The admission policy follows the admission policies of the state government, Union Ter­ritory administration & the affiliated university.
