Theivanai Ammal College for Women (TACW), a self-financing institution that was started in 1989 and is located in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The college, situated in a three-acre land, is self-financial, self-developed, and re-accredited by NAAC at ‘B’ grade. Currently, TACW has 2,439 students and 72 members of the faculty; the institution teaches 45 courses in ten degree programmes. The institute has multitalented students; thus, the majority, 98% of the students, belong to Tamil Nadu while 2% belong to other states in the country. TACW has an exclusive ambition of offering quality education to females, as all its admitted students are female at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
The college has made available some facilities that supplement the learning activities and character-moulded students. It has modern central and departmental library facilities with the seating capacity of two hundred students at a time; the library empanels N-List services of e-journals more than 6,000 and e-books of 31,35,000. As for the residential students, TACW has got a girls’ hostel with a capacity of forty-four rooms, that is, three hundred students and thirteen faculty members. All basic needs are catered to, with hygienic food available from the hostel kitchen and medical facilities available 24×7, an RO water plant facility, a water heater, and an internet connection. They are cool for sport lovers because they have volleyball, basketball, ball badminton, and a 200-meter track. It also has a well-equipped gym facility with the latest exercise equipment for the users among college.
TACW currently provides basic and post-basic education with well over one thousand students enrolled; the school has developed and implemented its academic programmes, among which are thirteen undergraduate courses, nine postgraduate courses, six M.Phil. courses, and eight Ph.D. courses. The college is able to admit 2,439 students in total, 2,083 students in undergrad and 356 students in postgraduate. They are BA in Tamil English & Corporate Economics, B.Sc. in Mathematics, Chemistry & Computer Science, & M.A. in Human Resources Management & English. There are other specialisations like B.Sc. in Information System Management and M.Sc. in Bioinformatics offered by the college that specialise in areas that are listed in the growing job needs.

The TACW has an open-channel policy on admissions so as to encourage many students to apply for admission that will be followed by a merit-based system.
