About Times School of Journalism, New Delhi

The Times School of Journalism, New Delhi, was founded in 1985 to groom the next generation of media professionals. Affiliated with the University of Delhi, this premier school is situated in the journalistic centre of New Delhi and offers courses in journalism only. It is an international school that is both a mixed section and has the ability to admit students from all over the world. With a faculty team of 11 dedicated professionals, the Times School of Journalism is able to extend personalised attention to each student, all of which can be availed of in this compact urban space of the Times School of Journalism.

The Times School of Journalism involves the provision of well-equipped facilities in the pursuit of the journalism course. The institute comprises a good library that plays the role of a reference centre for the journalist to expand his or her knowledge base and be abreast of current events. Excellent IT facilities in the school make the students adept with current relevant technological tools crucial in the current practice of journalism. 

Interactive learning environment consisting of air-conditioned classes, overhead projectors, amplifiers, and TV/VCR’s are placed in each class. As much as people concentrate on their work, the institute provides a means of refreshment and food by having a canteen that serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a tea break. Also possible, availability of banks/ATMs on campus makes it easier for students and members of staff.

The Times School of Journalism offers specialisation in the education of journalism. At present, the institute offers one full-time course, a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism. The programme is calculated to be a one-year full-time study that prepares the students with the skills necessary for a successful journalism career in the emerging media environment.

The admission process leading to the Times School of Journalism is selective; that is, it is competitive due to the sheer reason of admitting only the right calibre of students. It is imperative that prospective students qualify through an all-India entrance exam based on aptitude in journalism and their awareness of existing affairs.
