Tinsukia College was established in 1956 in Tinsukia, Assam. Affiliated with Dibrugarh University, this co-ed college offers an array of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the arts, science, and commerce streams. The lush green campus drapes 5.65 acres of land and consists of a huge student strength numbering 2,393 and 70 faculty members. Tinsukia College offers 25 courses across 10 degrees with specialisations in various disciplines.

Tinsukia College provides a range of facilities to enhance the student experience. The campus features a well-stocked central library housing approximately 50,000 books, including rare publications, journals, and periodicals across various disciplines. There is a well-furnished girls' hostel with the intake capacity of 124 beds for female students coming from distant areas. The college also houses in its premises a state-of-the-art IT facility lab, equipped with modern computers and Wi-Fi connectivity. Other facilities include an auditorium for college events, a cafeteria that can provide hygienic food at reasonable prices, and a health centre with first-aid facilities. 

The college has a total of twelve hundred and fifty-plus students offering a variety of academic courses, which range in twenty-five categories in disciplines. The institution provides full-fledged, self-financed undergraduate courses in arts and science besides commerce and self-financed courses in BBA and BCA. The college also runs postgraduate courses in Commerce, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Commerce is the stream with the highest intake at 300 seats for B.Com Honours.
