Titus II Teachers College Tiruvalla is founded in 1957 and it is an acclaimed college, focused on preparing teachers. This is a co-educational college situated at Pathanamthitta, Kerala It is accredited to the Mahatma Gandhi University and recognised from the National Council for Teacher Education / New Delhi. The college is located on a relatively small piece of land of only four acres and only enrols 120 students in two programmes in education. Titus II Teachers College is staffed with 14 highly qualified faculty members and has a favourable student-teacher ratio, which guarantees the students close attention and effective learning.
Titus II Teachers College has a variety of facilities aimed at improving the teaching and learning for its students. It has the current reading resources of over 12,500 books of which 336 are encyclopedia and 1202 are reference books as well as 15 educational journals and periodicals. We have on the campus practical and dedicated compartments for Psychology, Technology, Computer lab and Social Science Practice lab for practical exposure. Extra facilities available for the students of the college include sports that include athletic facilities and an auditorium for events and seminars. There is a girl’s hostel for out-station students so as to provide them a safe and sound accommodation. The college also has own health centre for emergency first aid treatment for its employees and students as well as the college canteen.
Titus II Teachers College offers two full-time courses in education: Bachelors in Education (B.Ed) and Masters in Education (M. Ed). The two programmes have a duration of 2 years and can take 50 students per cohort, which means that there is availability of 100 seats each year they are offered. These programmes are intended to prepare anyone interested in being a teacher to complete all the knowledge, skills, and experience that will go into teaching profession.
