ULTRA College of Engineering and Technology, Madurai, set up in 2009, is a pioneer in technical education in Tamil Nadu. Located on Madurai-Chennai Highway, this affiliated college comprises of a vast area of 10.08 Acres. Conducted and approved by The All India Council for Technical Education (AICT), UCET Madurai has the following engineering programmes. it hosts sixty-five students and has strength of eighty dedicated faculties which gives an appropriate ratio of students per teacher, thus implying the quality and favourable faculty-student ratio.

ULTRA College of Engineering and Technology has numerous equipments that will allow the college make the learning process as well as the general development of the students. A centrally located and well stocked library is designed for information access while fully equipped laboratories for practical training are for civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering and chemical engineering disciplines. On the campus, there are girls and boys hostels, well furnished having a provision of continual water and electricity supply. The college boast of having a fully equipped gym for individuals interested in physical activities. The college also has an event and seminar auditorium and thus promotes an active college life. A canteen provides quality and healthy food in terms of meals and medical needs, medical centre with first aid facilities. For students using various means of transport to commute, the college provides an uninterrupted network with all transport means.

It offers only six undergraduate programmes such as BE Electronics and telecommunication Engineering, BE Computer Science and Engineering, BE Electrical and electronics Engineering, BE Mechanical, BE Civil Engineering and B.Tech Information technology. All bachelor’s degree programmes are full-time with an academic year completion of four years. It has a total of 240 approved intake for the undergraduate programmes offered at the institute with Computer science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering being the most popular programmes with an intake of 60 each.

The admission process in UCET Madurai is heavily reliant on the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission (TNEA) system, which is the centralized admission system for engineering courses in Tamil Nadu colleges. The centralized system considers the academic performance of the candidates in their qualifying exams (10+2 or equivalent) for admitting students to various engineering courses.

For undergraduate engineering programs, the candidates must have cleared their 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects.
