The United Institute of Designing is in Swaroop Nagar, Kanpur. It is a specialised educational institute that has begun to mold the future for design professionals since 1995. Being an affiliated college, it has carved out a niche for itself exemplary in the field of design education. It offers a wide array of courses in the form of diploma and advanced diplomas.

The following facilities are provided to students under the United Institute of Designing for augmenting their learning process. The library is well-stocked with design literature, availing students with an opportunity for study and acquainting them with the changing trends in this particular field. Realising the role of computers in contemporary design practice, it is well endowed with excellent information technology infrastructure, which can support students in giving expressions to their creativity. These programmes are backed by specialised laboratories that allow students to experiment and learn through doing. Again, through a very active alumni association, the institute remains closely in touch with its alumni, thereby developing a very friendly network from which the current students can also benefit in their job-searching processes.

The United Institute of Designing offers a total of six full-time courses, all of which are based on different areas of design. Some of these include one-year diploma courses in Interior Designing, Dress Designing, Fashion Designing, and Merchandising Management and Textiles. For those who can take more advanced courses, the institute offers two-year advanced diploma programs in Interior Designing and Fashion Designing.
