Universal Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), officially an affiliated college, was set up in 2009 in Mohali, Punjab. UIET is an acknowledged centre for engineering and management located in a spacious 10 acres of land. It is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and is accredited by the National Board of Accreditation, NBA, for Engineering courses, approved by the Indian Society for Technical Education ISTE for technical and Management courses and is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities ACU, UK. Currently total strength of students is 1,113 and total faculty of UIET is 134 thus student-teacher ratio is very appropriate. Currently, the institute’s students are 66% male, and 34% female, which provides a diverse learning atmosphere.

Universal Institute of Engineering and Technology has always been assigned to deliver ultramodern infrastructure to transform the learning environment of its learners. It provides adequately equipped laboratories for practical sessions, a well stocked up library, both in books, e-resources and IT laboratories with internet connection. Finally, the campus is outfitted with Wi-Fi, to facilitate easy internet usage by students. Facilitating comprehensive growth of the students, UIET has well-equipped sports amenities for indoor as well as outdoor games. The institute also has different hostels for boys and girls to provide proper accommodation facility especially for out station students. The institute provides an opportunity to study a total of 10 courses under three degree programmes intending to cover different fields of engineering and management. Among these offers are five years B.Tech programmes in Computer Science Engineering, B.Tech Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The postgraduate course offered by UIET are four programme in Master of Technology such as Civil Engineering, Computer Science Engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Further, the institute offer a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. For all the courses a total intake of 552 has been approved of which B.Tech programmes has the highest intake of 420.

For admissions in B.Tech programmes, the institute provides admission on the basis of the scores obtained in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main conducted in the field of engineering throughout the nation.
