About University College, Jaitu

University College Jaitu, an affiliated college of Punjabi University, Patiala, was established in 2011 and is a constituent college in Faridkot district of Punjab state. This institution is built to provide co-educational facilities for students interested in various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. It is located on a 11 acres area and covers 1,170 students’ admission in total and has 11 faculty numbers. The University College, Jaitu has 7 courses included within 7 programmes in Arts, Commerce, Science, and Computer Applications. 

University College, Jaitu, also, has structures and amenities meant to add value to the learning process as well as improve the student experiencing learning. The library plays a central role as a learning resource centre with book, journals, and electronic resources for use by students and faculties. It intends to be a rural source of reading and learning centre that delivers desirable information to students and society. For physical development, the college provides vast sports amenities such as underground play fields for cricket, hockey, football, volley ball, lawn tennis as well as badminton. A modern gymasium-cum-badminton hall complex is also there for the students also. The college supports both contemporary and indigenous country activities, valued for complete student’s personality developments.

University College, Jaitu, has eight total programmes. Offerings for undergraduate include full time programmes like BA, B.Com, B.Sc Non-Medical, BCA, and B.Sc Medical. At postgraduate level, the college offers MA in Punjabi & MCA courses. In total, the college has been approved to take 1,170 students for all the courses and this clearly shows that the college has the potential to accommodate a number of aspiring learners in the region.
