Uttar Banga Women's B.Ed. College was established in the year 2008; spread over a compact campus of 1 acre in area, the college has an enrolment of 188 students pursuing regular courses, along with a faculty strength of 17 members. Affiliated by the National Council for Teacher Education, Uttar Banga Women's B.Ed. College works towards molding the future of education with highly skilled and dedicated women educators.

The institution has numerous facilities that aid students in the process of learning and in general development. There is a well-stocked library, an imperative hub of knowledge for academics. It has departmental laboratories that provide practical work; this is essential in the learning process for teachers. It has an auditorium where a number of events and seminars take place, thereby providing a lively academic atmosphere. It has a Girls' Hostel, caring about student welfare by providing safe and comfortable accommodation to out-station students. 

Uttar Banga Women's B.Ed. College offers only one course at the degree level: the B.Ed. program. This is a two-year full-time course aimed at endowing the prospective teachers with necessary pedagogical skills and theoretical knowledge backed by practice for a successful career in the field of education. 

Uttar Banga Women's B.Ed. College admits students purely on merit and in accordance with the State Government policies and the affiliated University. Selection of probable students shall be made by their performance in the qualifying examination, usually a bachelor's degree.
