One of the affiliated colleges for the study of Unani medicine is Uttaranchal Unani Medical College and Hospital, located in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. It offers a focused learning environment with 31 faculty members to students pursuing Unani medical education.

The facilities range from libraries, that will be well furnished, spacious enough to sit all the students who would seek knowledge at any one time, and thus act as centers of knowledge by offering books of medical literature and other resources.  Uttaranchal Unani Medical College and Hospital has given great importance to practical learning by setting up departmental-based laboratories where students can practice their skills in the course they learn. Uttaranchal Unani Medical College and Hospital runs two courses in the department of Unani. The prime course is  Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery, which is a six-year full-time comprehensive course with an approved intake of 60 students. The programme is aimed to provide in-depth knowledge and practical skills in Unani medicine to the students. The institution also offers a Diploma in Unani Pharmacy, a two-year full-time course with an emphasis on the pharmaceutical aspects of Unani medicine. The courses are so designed that the students, after passing through this system, may have a strong hold on the basics of this traditional system of medicine, which will enable them for a prosperous career in the field.

d Hospital admission for the course in BUMS are conducted in the college based on a national-level exam called the NEET-UG, which is compulsorily attended by all aspirants of medical programmes across the country. This helps the students to meet up with the national standards prescribed for medical education.
