The thought of establishing the Vaageswari College of Pharmacy, Karimnagar in the year 2004 has molded the Pharmaceutical education in Telangana. This affiliated college is situated at Ramakrishna Colony, Thimmapur and the institute has its campuses spread over a 20 acres of land. UGC recognised institute affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University approved by Pharmacy Council of India(PCI), recognized for offering a wide array of programmes which include B.Pharma, M.Pharma and Pharm.D. Vaageswari College of Pharmacy offers enough opportunities for its students since it has a total enrolment of 483 students and a faculty of 49.. The college provides education in eight courses at three levels of a degree programme in different pharmaceutical disciplines.

Vaageswari College of Pharmacy has a set of modern amenities to enhance the learning process of the college it has at its disposal. Topping 2,792 titles and 13,121 volumes, the library remains a power-house of learning and a repository from both local and international authors. It also subscribes e-journals, and is linked with the National Digital Library of India and the Developing Library Environment through Network Technology [DELNET]. The college laboratories are well equipped with all the necessary equipment a student would need in handling issues to do with pharmaceuticals. In the interest of the students, there are boys and girls hostels which are equipped for residing on the building that student call a home. The college also has a medical centre with a hospital that contains ICU, wards and oxygen, and the college has its own ambulance service with operational 24/7. For this sake, Vaageswari College of Pharmacy has an air condition auditorium with 500 seats for carrying out both academic and cultural activities.

The Vaageswari College of Pharmacy gives various pharmaceutical courses. The institute offers 8 full-time programme including undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level programmes. Some of the main courses in the college include the B.Pharma course which intakes one hundred students. In order to provide specialised education, the college offers various M.Pharma programmes like Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology and Industrial Pharmacy for the different students with 15 intake seats for each programme. The Pharm.D. programme is a six-year course with 30 students enrolled for each school year. Further, it has started Pharm.D Post Baccalaureate programme with 10 intakes and B.Pharma Lateral Entry 10. Currently the college has an approved intake of 483 students for all its programmes and this shows its concerns to produce competent Pharmaceutical workers.

This college enrols its students through open admission policy and the criteria it uses is the government policy on admission process of institutions offering pharmacy courses. Candidates seeking admission in B.Pharma have to clear the Telangana State Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (TS EAMCET). Lateral entry into B.Pharma depends on the eligibility in the ECET examination. The admission to M.Pharma programmes depends on either Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) or Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET). For admission to Pharm.D programme the TS EAMCET score also is taken into account. The college usually admits students to these examination in the earlier months of a particular academic year. Special issues include scholarships for deserving students even though the company does not divulge more details about it. Degree wise Admission Process

B.Pharma: B.Pharma program is available for 4 years based on TS EAMCET rank. The college has 100 seats available for the course. The candidate must pass 10+2 with Mathematics or Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. The total fee for the course is Rs 212,000.

B.Pharma Lateral Entry: Candidates must pass the ECET exam for second-year lateral entry into B.Pharma. There are 10 lateral entry seats available in the college.

M.Pharma: Vaageswari College of Pharmacy offers four specializations in M.Pharma, which are Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmacology, and Industrial Pharmacy. There are 15 seats for each specialization. GPAT or TS PGECET score is taken for admissions. Fee for all courses of M.Pharma is Rs 220,000.

Pharm.D: 6-year Pharm.D program has 30 seats based on TS EAMCET ranks. The course fee for Pharm.D is Rs 438,000.
