Vasant College of Education is a well-known undergraduate school in Sangli that was set up in 1985 mainly to prepare future educators. Situated at S.D. Patil Nagar, Urun-Islampur, in the Sangli district of Maharashtra, it has been providing co-education and cultivating knowledge over a vast 7-acre area of land. It has received the accreditation of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), which is one of the criteria we, as an affiliated college, provide the best education in the teaching field. At present, B.Ed. and D.Ed. are the two full-time courses offered in this institute. With 93 students and 8 faculty members, they provide a personal touch to their students. 

Vasant College of Education facilities available are several amenities that would improve the overall learning abilities of the students. That is why students can find a knowledge base in a library and acquire practical experience with the help of departmental laboratories. This campus has well-equipped and advanced information technology requirements, which makes the students aware of recent developments on campus. In a bid to promote the development of the whole being, the college has provided a facility for sporting activities and a gym. 

Available for various events and seminars, it helps develop active student life on the territory of the campus. It also has student welfare accounts with the student health centre housing first aid facilities. Interestingly, Vasant College of Education provides services like girls’ hostels, which create accommodation facilities that ensure safety for girl children who come from different regions of the country. 

As far as the courses are concerned, Vasant College of Education teaches teacher training programmes. The college currently provides two main courses: a two-year full-time programme like the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme and a two-year full-time diploma course in education (D.Ed.). 

The Vasant College of Education has set an admission procedure that is anchored on the policies of the state government, Union Territory administration, and the requisite university as follows: For the B.Ed. programme the admission will be based on marks secured in the previous qualifying examination and/or entrance test.
