Venkateshwara Institute of Computer Science and Technology, Meerut: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Venkateshwara Institute of Computer Science and Technology, or VICST, was established in 1998 as an affiliated college in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. The compact 1.23 acre campus supports offerings in 11 undergraduate and postgraduate programs in computer science, business administration, education, and library science. The institute is affiliated with the National Council of Teacher Education, New Delhi, and has a total intake of students to the extent of 648 in its various courses. 

VICST focuses on quality education in a contemporary learning environment that would prepare every graduating student for successful careers in their chosen field. Backed with numerous facilities, the institute provides ample support for student learning and development. The library of VICST is enriched with over 5,000 titles and 23,000 volumes of books, which cover a wide spectrum of subjects with a thrust on the field of education. VICST has gone digital with institutional membership status within DELNET. The campus has a computer lab with 107 computers and facilities with Wi-Fi connection across the campus; this is to ensure that students do get access to state-of-the-art IT infrastructure. There is a playground provided in the institute for playing sports like cricket, badminton, kabaddi, and volleyball, and also a gymnasium is provided for the physical well-being of the students.

VICST offers in total 11 full-time courses across various disciplines. It supports an array of popular undergraduate programmes—from BCA with 180 seats, BBA with 120 seats, and B.Com with 60 seats in its bouquet of facilities. The field of education at VICST includes B.Ed, B.El.Ed, and M.Ed. Other specialised courses consist of B.Lib, B.P.Ed, and M.Phil in Education. The post-graduation level in computer science includes the M. Sc Computer Science programme—60 seats strong. 

The Admissions modality for VICST is different for Every Course. For B.Ed and M.Ed courses, admission shall be made on merit, taking marks obtained in the qualifying examination and entrance examination as per policy of the state government and the university. In case of the B.P.Ed course, the entrance examination shall also include sports proficiency tests and physical fitness tests as part of the selection process.
