The Veterinary College and Research Institute, Namakkal was established in year 1985 which is a constituent college of Tamil Nadu, India. This institute occupies a massive land of 500.18 acres and aims at promoting the knowledge in veterinary and animal sciences. For B.V.Sc and A.H, Students has to pass 10+2 or equivalent examinations with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board of the country are eligible for admission into this course and Should have to cleared All India Pre-Veterinary Test (AIPVT) or some state specific veterinary test. They are some national and state-level entrance exams to appear for the admission into the Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry program.
AIPVT (All India Pre-Veterinary Test) has been replaced by the NEET examination from 2018. NEET is a national level exam that usually offers admission to medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, MD, among others. But now the candidates seeking admission in BVSc Animal Husbandry courses through 15% all India Quota seats will have to compulsorily appear for NEET examination.
