Vidhya Sagar Women College of Education was established in 1997 in Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu, and it is a premier women’s college to prepare women teachers for the future. This women college was set up in 2005 and has been producing competent teachers with an intention to transform the industry for almost two decades. It is a college set up on about 20 acres piece of land which provides a conducive environment for learning. The total enrolment of the institute is 189 and the faculty strength is 13 and hence, maximum attention and quality education is provided. Accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Vidhya Sagar Women’s College of Education is an affiliated college, which offers only one degree course in education.
Vidhya Sagar Women College of Education has a host of facilities that aim at facilitating the learning of the college’s students. The facility includes a library with more than 7 000 books, periodicals and journals for students and faculty use. The campus equipped with present day facilities consist of language lab, mathematics lab, computer lab, biological science lab, physical science lab, psychology lab assures practical knowledge of the students. For extracurricular activities the college has the provision of the sports facilities which include throw ball, kho-kho and tennis. The girls’ hostel inside the campus is comfortable and safe, with several rooms, dining halls as well as round-the-clock security.
Vidhya Sagar Women’s College of Education aims at offering quality education in teacher education. It conducts a full time B.Ed programme for the academic year 2014-15 with an approved intake of 100 students. This two-year course aims at preparing education students to exercise the necessary knowledge and expertise to do the job well in teaching profession. The emphasis on the college’s mission to prepare professional educators is supported by the college’s course offerings as well as its emphasis on preparation for practical experiences.

As may be already aware of, a number of top universities, do provide a few courses on Culture journalism. PhD in this niche area may also be offered at these places. I am listing here a few universities which offer culture journalism and related courses and I suggest that you network with the professors or admission coordinators before you decide to apply for the program.
