Vidhyalakshmi Polytechnic College is one of the newer colleges for the AICTE. it has undergone a series of stages to establish itself as an excellent centre of technical education offering diploma programs in various engineering disciplines. The college is located in Ramakoodal, Pullagoundampatti, in Salem District of Tamil Nadu, adopting an easy admission process so as to provide deserving candidates into the six diploma courses.

The admissions offered by the college are done according to procedures common to any polytechnic colleges across Tamil Nadu. Generally, students are admitted based on the performance in the state-level entrance examination or on merit selection.  In a nutshell, eligibility criteria for seeking admission into diploma programs at Vidhyalakshmi Polytechnic College are successful completion of the 10th standard from a recognized board. Students are required to take up Mathematics, Science, and English as compulsory subjects. 

Application Process

Application to Vidhyalakshmi Polytechnic College has some steps:

Degree-wise Admission Process

Diploma programs: Vidhyalakshmi Polytechnic College is offering six diploma courses, all of which are 3-year programs. The complete theoretical knowledge and practical skills required in the respective fields will thus be imparted to the students for these programs. Admission processes for all diploma programs are the same despite minor variations in seat allocation.

Mechanical Engineering Diploma: This is the largest program with an intake of 90 seats. The basis for admission is the candidate's performance in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test.

Automobile Engineering Diploma: With 45 seats allocated for the program, candidates which find interest in automotive technology are encouraged to apply.

Civil Engineering Diploma: 45 seats are open for this program, which allows students to merit and entrance-test performance.

Computer Engineering Diploma: The college has 45 seats open for aspiring computer engineering applicants. The selection is made upon merit and the aptitude shown for computer science.

Electrical and Electronics Engineering Diploma: 45 students are admitted in this program. Merit-list based admission is provided here, along with interest of the candidate in the discipline.

Electronics and Communication Engineering Diploma: This program has a total intake of 45 seats and selects students based on their academic background and performance in relevant subjects.
